About CYO Basketball
CYO Basketball provides Youth Basketball in the Utica, NY area and it is a program of Catholic Charities Oneida/Madison County. CYO provides youth the opportunity to play basketball in a league that promotes a positive culture that is safe and where there is respect between all involved including players, coaches, fans, officials, and CYO Staff.

CYO Basketball 2025/2026 SEASON: All games this season will be held at the JCC in Utica, NY on Fri, Sat, and 2 Weds.

CYO season: Runs from December - March. Next year we will start Fri Dec 4th 2026 - Fri March 5th 2027 with a few Weds nights mixed in.
TEAM Applications will be accepted in October and November 2026. Please know that players that play school basketball from 9th grade - 12th grade are not allowed to play CYO. CYO has 3 leagues for 6-8th graders, 9th-12th Graders, and a 2nd - 4th grade biddy bball division for this 2025/2026 season.

WE PLAY HARD AND TOUGH DEFENSE AND PLAY GOOD BASKETBALL BUT WE DO SO WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF THE RULES AND WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF FAIR PLAY. IF YOU GET FOULED OR A REF CALLS SOMETHING YOU DON’T AGREE WITH, YOU DON’T RESPOND ON THE COURT. YOU LET YOUR COACH KNOW AND ALLOW YOUR COACH THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND. NO MORE TECHNICAL FOULS!
(Please don't be a contributing factor to getting your team kicked out of the league)
Referees are trained to give technicals for any Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Notes on Technical Fouls:
If a player receives a tech the player must sit length of 1 quarter (8 Min) and it will continue into the next game if there are less than 8 min left in a game.
If a player receives 2 techs in a game, player receives a 1 game suspension.
If a player receives 3 technical fouls in a season, then the player must petition for reinstatement as that player is no longer eligible for CYO.
If a team receives 5 technical fouls the coaches must meet with CYO to review every technical foul and your remedies to prevent this behavior from continuing. CYO makes the final decision on whether your team continues after receiving 5 technical fouls.
If a team receives their 5th technical foul: The game is forfeited immediately by team committing 5th technical foul and that team cannot continue in CYO till that team's coach meets with CYO.

3/13/26 D1 Championship Game Kings Pro won 51 to 50 vs The Marks. What a game to end the CYO season! Kings Pro led by 12 and The Marks continued playing hard and chipped away gradually at Kings Pro lead. The Marks took the lead late by 3 at one point in the 4th quarter and were leading by 2 with 7.0 seconds to play. Nataniel Perez whom won the final 4 game at the free throw line for The Marks came through again with a couple big buckets in the 4th quarter but it just wasn't enough to beat the Undefeated Kings. Kings Pro Senior and CYO MVP Jayden Neverez had the ball at the top of the key and made a cross over step back 3 pointer with 7 seconds left on the clock to win the game for Kings Pro. The Marks did have a last second shot to win it but the shot did not go down. Kings Pro won 2 years in a row and stayed undefeated! 3/13/26 D2 Championship Game Pearl Street Orange won 31 to 21 vs G League. Pearl Street's first year in the league was impressive culminating in a D2 championship season. Pearl Street was led by Niko Martinez super aggressive play on both ends of the floor. Niko had 8 points for another balanced attack by the Pearl Street Orange. 3/13/26 Jr High Championship Game UCD won 67 to St Pauls 25. UCD again with only 4 players kept their season undefeated. UCD as usual was led by their big 2 of Jared Holmes and Antoine Butler combining for 41 total points.

3/7/26 2 PM game: The Marks won 34 to 33 vs Tillys with The Marks sinking 2 game winning free throws with 1.0 second left. Joey Talarico's half court shot missed and the 3 seed Marks are heading to the finals vs Kings Pro. Tilly's missed the ball handling and scoring of guard Grant Winter whom missed this game but Ben Fiorentino's 11 points helped fill that void but the balanced attack from The Marks is what is leading them to the finals. This was a close game that came right down to the end and G League backed by Most Improved Player and All Star Musa Osman's 19 points and with Mehki Boykin's excellent court vision G League edged out a tough St Pauls team.
